Can this be the same rose described in the Pemberton's Rose advertisement in The Rose Annual of 1919, p. 167?
That description reads: " "Star of Persia" (Hybrid of R lutea). Colour bright yellow with golden stamens. Flowers semi-single, about three inches across, blooming at the end of May and early June. Summer flowering. Growth from eight to ten feet high. A pillar rose."
