Class:
Found Rose.
Bloom:
Red, ages to purple .
Habit:
Blue-green foliage.
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
The original rose was from Miss Eileen Giblett whose mother planted the roses. Mrs. Giblett was married in 1920 and the house was built in 1936. The roses date from about 1937 when Mrs. Giblett bought many of the roses in from their first property. This particular rose had been planted on the garden North fenceline.

Eileen told Patricia Routley it was "a blood red, very old, it never really opens out, just stays a bud".
Blooms are held upright on short stems.
Leaves are roundish.

Consider ‘Comte G. de Rochemur’, 1911. However no tan center nor whitish edges have been noted in the foundling.
Consider ‘General Jacqueminot’.
