'David Hockney ®' rose Reviews & Comments

I’ve had it for the 3rd year now, it never managed to “climb” but stays like a small bush, less than 1m high! Maybe because it never gets enough water during the long, hot and dry summer and shuts down the growth. When autumn comes and it cools down a bit with some rain, it wakes up and re-flowers.
The flower is very pretty, what a pity that there’s only a light fragrance.

None of the photos resemble this description: "Yellow, light pink outer petals, apricot shading, ages to white "
The pix show a very pretty rose, of a nice pinkish color on the salmony side, but no yellow nor do I see any aging to white.
Are the blooms on your plant yellow at any stage?

Modified colour description based on the patent: "color when opening: basal spot on the upper surface: commonly near Yellow Group 3C." Light greenish yellow should be the undertones. One of the photos also shows cream-coloured blooms with pinkish edges.

Yes, I’ll upload a photo showing that soft yellow tone. Actually like some other roses, its flowers react to the uv light by turning red.

According to the website of Meilland Richardier, the flower has a slight fragrance. I’ll check it out when mine flowers this year.

Its flower does have a little fragrance (to my nose), just like Eden rose.

As far as I know, when Meilland fill the patent form, anything less than an obvious fragrance is “no fragrance”, there’s no such thing as “light fragrance”.
