Michael - that is precisely correct per JP 2022 Garden Guide (formerly know as a catalog). Also, it's a JP Exclusive 2022 Introduction but Christian Bedard is the hybridizer.

Another JP Exclusive 2022 Introduction is the FL Over the Edge, with Tom Carruth listed as hybridizer.

Wouldn't you expect these roses to be introduced by Weeks?

I dont know how the relationship exactly works.

I do know that a minor portion that work through the Spring Hill/J&P/et al. circuit become Weeks staples. I know this because Portland Nursery carries catches most of the Weeks roses, as well as other companies, and their list is a good metric for yearly USA distribution.

What I do know is four things:

The Rose Festival rose is ALWAYS a Weeks introduction the following year. It ALWAYS has a Rose Festival name that then becomes the real name a year later. ie. 'Burst of Hope' became 'Pop Art'.

Spring Hill or J/P tend to get an introduction a year prior to the other sellers. They are sometimes split evenly. Some exclusives never get picked up by Weeks wholesale.

Roses with the new JAC tag are more often than not Weeks creations.

Some decade-old Weeks roses come back from the "flash in the pan" grave yard for a revival tour.
