"Stan's Rose", sometimes "Stan's Laidley Rose" This rose came to me around 28 years ago from a dear friend who loved to visit garden shows. She picked up "Stan's Rose" from a garden stall at a Laidley Garden Show. She was a great sharer and insisted I grow this rose, and it has been in my garden ever since. The name "Stan's Rose" was on the label when I received it, and it stays until we have a positive identification. It grows to around 60 to 70cm tall, and the flowers are a mid-pink semi-double around the size of a twenty-cent piece in a cluster of 5 to 7 flowers. The bush has very few prickles.
Over the years I have often been given a special rose that came from an old garden.
Just recently this year two different gardeners have presented me with this treasure with names such as "Ray's Rose", and another which I am watching that I purchased from a plant stall as "Wendy's Rose" and am pretty certain it will be that fellow that pops up everywhere - Stan!!!
