Book (2008) Page(s) 747. Almost all plants in the Scandinavian dogrose plantations originate from selected wild material. Certain genotypes found in nature have shown superior qualities and have therefore been vegetatively propagated. Only one of them has been given a name so far - the Danish 'Lito'. This is a R. canina genotype collected from one of the Danish isles. This genotype is used for producing herbal medicine, where both the dried fruit flesh and the seeds are ground together and marketed as a powder.
