Dolly’s Rose is a stunning fragrant shrub rose which features large cup-shaped flowers produced in small clusters of 3-5 blooms on strong stems. It is an attractive deep purple colour in warm weather changing to a more intense burgundy on cooler days. Typical of a nostalgic rose, Dolly’s Rose has a lovely strong fragrance showing an oriental character and repeat flowers extremely well. This is a very healthy, bushy rose with a well-branched habit and abundant semi-glossy foliage with good disease resistance. Also suitable as a cut flower.
On January 3rd 2018, Tick and Kate Everett’s youngest daughter took her own life. It was the day they lost their 14-year-old, vibrant gypsy soul to bullying. As a child, Dolly was a dreamer, a painter, a storyteller, a singer. A wild-haired, bright-eyed baby girl. She believed in being kind to all, she always saw the good and championed the underdog.
Tick suggested we fulfil Dolly’s dream; one where the world is a better place. One where there is a little more kindness and a little more positivity. Dolly’s Dream became a reality and the aims were simple. To educate, to inspire and to just be there. Dolly’s story and the family hopes for Dolly’s Dream quickly became bigger than ever imagined, so the family chose to partner with the Alannah & Madeline Foundation to help take Dolly’s Dream to Australia.
