Similar to a red 'Caroline Testout' but “Grandma Pfeiler’s” opens completely to show stamens. The fragrance is different to that of ‘Red Radiance’. Blooms burn a little in hot weather. Receptacles: smooth. Pedicel: a tiny roughness. Canes: Short flowering stems are generally prickle-free Bush: Moderately prickly It starts flowering late winter / early spring Repeats rapidly throughout the growing season
