This little rose really lights up my partial-shade front flower bed. I love the mottling on the petals, which didn’t show up until the second year. This rose is relatively blackspot-resistant, and the Japanese Beetles and thrips pretty much ignore it. The bees adore it, though. It flowers often, and the flowers last a bit. I haven’t seen any hips yet.

I live in NJ, humid zone 7b, and garden in slightly alkaline clay.

I've had this rose for awhile now. Probably one of my favorite roses, despite being somewhat pastel.

It does have a 'Mutabilis' effect which seems to set it apart. It's quite low and a little wide. Perpetual. Spiny hips but it does not require deadheading so who cares. Starts out light yellow and light pink, and ends up cream and salmon pink, with the salmon overtaking the petal face in summer sun. The individual blooms aren't much to look at, but the overall effect on a mature plant in the landscape is really neat.

I'm getting an error message when selecting for "parentage bloodline" with certain varieties, such as 'Watercolors Home Run'.

Thank you, Robert.

Robert, there is a circular lineage reference we need to research and resolve. At issue are 'RAD95-1016.17' and 'Morning Magic' lineage

Understood.

There are others. I ran into a couple more awhile back. No doubt the same issues were at fault.

Thanks for your efforts. Robert

Anyone else notice that the flower buds seem like they have some moss rose in them?

It's not true moss. It's a relic of some species roses, but could probably be easily bred into moss roses. I wouldn't recommend it, however, because moss roses tend to be more mildew prone, and RKO isn't a rose like Baby Love, for example, that tends to pass on mildew resistance easily.
