Origin:

Bred by Marie aka Veuve (vve, widow) Ducher (1834-1881) (France, 1875).
Introduced in France by Veuve Ducher in 1878 as 'William Allen Richardson'.
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1882 as 'William Allen Richardson'.

Class:

Noisette, Tea Noisette.

Bloom:

Yellow to deep yellow, orange shading, ages to white . Mild to strong, tea, opinions vary fragrance. Average diameter 3". Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, old-fashioned, quartered bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Climbing, few or no prickles/thorns. Glossy, dark green foliage. 5 to 7 leaflets.

Height: up to 12' (up to 365cm). Width: up to 8' (up to 245cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 7b and warmer. Can be used for cut flower or garden. Very vigorous. can be grown as a shrub.
