The breeder gives the pedigree as a sport of 'Captain Christy' according to the 1904 reference.

Thank you HubertG. That makes it a hybrid tea, not a tea. I am fairly sure 'George Watkins 1899 is ''G. W. Watkins' 1890 but really we need a little more proof before a merge.
