On October 7, 2010 during the recent Heritage Roses in Australia Inc. conference tour, we stopped at 'Stirling House', Toowoomba. This was the garden with many trees and an incredibly beautiful fountain under a Cupressus cashmeriana. In a sunny part of the garden was a yellow climber with dark wood that we agreed must be 'Lady Hillingdon'. To me, it was not quite right but I was in a different Australian state with a different climate.

I have just downloaded a 1926 reference with refers to 'Georges Schwartz Climbing' as having dark stems and coloured foliage. Did any of the Australians photograph this yellow rose at 'Stirling House'? I live in hope of finding this rose one day.

Thanks Margaret. The buds in your pics certainly look like 'Lady Hillingdon'.
Put my uncertainty down to the heat.
