This is an outstanding landscape peony, standing well without any support. The flowers are held fairly close to the dark foliage. The red tipped carpels in the center of the flower are a bonus. Fragrance, unfortunately, is rather pungent. It sets seed readily and therefore would be useful for hybridization.
