The planting of Sunshine Daydream at Norfolk Botanical Garden is strikingly different from the rose pictured here. Blooms were semi-double, perhaps 18 to 20 petals at best, opening flat to show lovely stamens. Blooms at all levels of the plant like best best shrub roses, on healthy plants with lovely foliage.
I fell in love with Sunshine Daydream at the Garden but the roses shown in these photos don't resemble the roses I saw.
Anyone growing this rose care to describe the rose they are growing, and identify the source?

That sounds more like Carefree Sunshine, Sunshine Flower Carpet, and the like.

Mystery solved. The photos here picture Sunshine Daydream before it finishes by opening flat. I apparently like that stage rather than mid-bloom where it has a hybrid tea like form. In our intense heat the blooms open rather quickly; in spring or fall more like these pics. Beautiful at any season in bud or bloom! Love it!

Sunshine Daydream neighbor, Dark Night, came down with a case of the flu, black spot, and mildew. And while Dark night was unaffected by the rain and Sunshine Daydream's blooms melted a bit, Sunshine Daydream is looking wonderful now and Dark Night looks.... defoliated and white.

And that is a story I would like to call night and day :P

When this rose first came out, I was disappointed. It was *another* light yellow. "Why do I need another Elina? I already have one!" However, this one shines and can be seen from a long distance. It gives off a lot of light, and seems to always look nice. Now I have 2 star-performing light yellows in the garden :]
