Origin:
Discovered by Victor Lemoine (France, circa 1900).
Introduced in France by Victor Lemoine & fils in before 1917 as 'Cote d'Azur'.
Class:
Group 3, Herbaceous Group, Late, Small-flowered.  
Bloom:
Deep blue, mauve shading.  Azure-blue.  4 petals.  Average diameter 1".  Clusters, curved tip, hyacinth-shaped bloom form.  Midsummer to midautumn.  
Habit:

Height: 3' to 4' (90 to 120cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  In early spring, cut back to just above the lowest set of healthy buds.
