De loin, nous avions pris cette grande brochure de 112 pages pour un catalogue de la maison Vilmorin-Andrieux et Cie. Il s'agit en réalité un catalogue de la Société d'horticulture de Komagome Denchu, à Tokio, sous la direction de M. F. Takaghi. [...] Il renferme...les Paeonia officinalis en groupes de coloris blanc, rose, cramoisi, panachés, et quelles dénominations! En voici des échantillons: Hakuseiko (étoile blanche), Tagonoura (Rive du Tage), Fujisumizome (Wistaria), Kesho (dame en toilette), Higurashi (crépuscule), Heianko (rose impériale), Yamatosangai (orgueil japonais)—cette dernière est figurée en chromo sur la couverture et droit être fort jolie, si le dessin est fidèle—Kasanejishi (les deux lions)!
