Named after Allen Brundrett (now retired) who was known personally to many of our customers in the years of 1926 until quite recently. This rose is a product of his hybridising. A classic red, hybrid tea type having 50 petals that give it good body and form. The blooms are almost always borne singly. Photo on page 2. 1993 Release. p16. Allen Brundrett. Red. Tall.

1998 R.N.R.S. Historic Roses Group No. 16. p30 Peter Cox. Roses in Australia. There is another good sized rose originating from that area of Victoria, (south of the Dandenong Ranges and to the east of Melbourne), named ‘Allen Brundrett’. It was introduced by S. Brundrett and Sons who have grown roses at Narre Warren for over 100 years. The flower is a very dark red hybrid tea with a lighter centre. It is an impressive 13.5cm (5.5in) across with over 50 petals !

Large, very double, slightly fragrant flowers, dark red outer petals with lighter red centre, fully recurrent. Dark green leathery foliage. Large reddish prickles on new wood. Flower 50 petals. 135 mm, 1 to 4. Upright Bush. 1.5m x 1.4m.
