Bred by Scipion Cochet (France, 1890).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1897 as 'Maman Cochet'.

Bloom:
Light pink, carmine-pink shading, yellow undertones, salmon-pink shading, ages to copper.  Strong fragrance.  Very large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, globular, high-centered, rosette bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Dense, upright.  

Height: 3' to 7' (90 to 215cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 10b.

Notes:
‘A Catherine Mermet parentage is mentioned in the 1897, 1904 and 1913 references.
