I prefer the parent plant, Sheer Elegance, over this variety. The blooms on this variety fade into the background, and the colors bleed badly. Sheer Elegance, on the other hand, stand out and are very intricate.

Okay. Planted this tree this year and it has produced. The stems are sturdy and longer than I expected, about 16". Colors are pretty, the bloom wants to open faster than I'm used to, but they seem to last in this open stage for a fairly long time. No scent. And, because of that I'm thinking of giving it away. It sits next to a Gemini and a double Delight and in my small garden, I tend to think, when compared to these, her companions, she's not the real thing. It's like having a fake one of the others. She's pretty, but "mit un tom".

Thank you for your honest review. Jackson and Perkins made it look so delicious that I almost bought one. However I also have Gemini and Double Delight. And if its not as good as those I wont be buying it. I mean I already have its parent Color Magic and Im running out of room for new roses anyway.

Good to hear from you. I believe you took my experience with this rose in the best possible way. I didn't mean for it to be a bad review, just my take on the contrast. I still have the tree and do like it enough to wait for another year before I remove it, because it is pretty, but as I said in misspelled Yiddish, "pretty, but nothing's going on". I think you made the right decision, especially with Color Magic in your garden.
