Bred by Michael Henry Horvath (United States, 1937).
Introduced in United States by Wayside Gardens in 1939 as 'Polaris'.

Class:

Climber.

Bloom:

White. Milk white. Strong fragrance. Double (17-25 petals), in small clusters, open bloom form. Prolific, once-blooming spring or summer.

Habit:

Tall, climbing. Glossy, light green foliage.

Height: 12' to 15' (365 to 455cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for cut flower, garden, landscape or pillar. Very vigorous.

R. wichuraiana x (R. multiflora x R. foetida bicolor)
Color.--When sepals first divide, sulphur yellow. When petals begin to unfurl, lighter. When half blown-full white.

The variety is characteristically a persistent grower and a profuse and abundant bloomer, rarely recurrent, the flowers being abundant throughout the blooming period which begins in June (northern Ohio) and lasts five to six weeks. During the blooming period the flowers are substantially consistent in quantity and quality.
