I owned this one about 15 years ago. In the central Texas heat this thing was quite big. Well over the 2 foot mark in the description. I believe mine topped out at about 5 1/2 feet. I found all the positive qualities already listed to be true. It was just to big a plant to keep in the space I had available at the time. I've recently recieved a new plant of this variety from Rogue Valley Roses as I think I have a spot that will suit it now. This is a plant well worth having. Maybe my original plant was a one-off, but if you live in a warm area, be aware that you may need to give it a little room.

This rose is beautiful, vigorous, and a very strong bloomer. The rose has clusters of flowers like a polyantha does, but unlike a polyantha where the first blooms to open have faded and fallen before the last bud in a cluster opens, with Unconditional Love the individual blossoms last long enough for the entire cluster to be blooming at once. I have some blossoms that have been open for almost 2 weeks without yet falling, though they were finally fading just a tad. Most roses here get blackspot, but Unconditional Love tolerates it well with little defoliation and no slowing down of blossoming. I have it planted in a container in full sun next to the parking lot at my job, where I also have displayed about 30 other roses in containers. This rose has received the most compliments, several people saying it is their favorite of the roses that are there. It also lasts well in a vase, but to be honest doesn't have a very long stem. The fragrance is mostly from the moss on the rose rather than the blossoms, and is rather peppery.
I highly recomend this rose for those who grow in containers, and I would guess it would perform quite well in the ground as well. My garden is in eastern KS, newly rezoned to 6a.

This has some of the healthiest foilage I have ever seen. It is so dark and thick. The plant was covered in blooms all season; there was no break. No pests or diseases on this one.
