The simple charm of R. alabukensis. Stays a small rounded mound and blooms for a long time. However, this rose will happily sucker. I've had it less than a year, so it remains to be seen how much territory it will grab. This one is next to a gallica with tremendous wandering tendencies. We will see who wins the turf battle!

R. alabukensis Tkatsch, moved from Eurodesert Roses in June 2011. Reblooming in Claremont, CA on July 31, 2011. This was quite a surprise as I didn't know this rose would rebloom. I saw this very same plant covered in flowers at the beginning of May. Some of the hips from that flowering are visible in this photo.
