Arbuste très vigoureux; rameaux forts, munis d'aiguillons forts, très recourbés, bruns olivâtres; feuillage vert noirâtre au dessus, vert beaucoup plus clair en dessous; fleur très belle, bien faite, forme de calice, pleine, très serrée; bouton très beau, presque noir à l'extérieur; coloris de la rose pourpre velouté avec reflet brun. Très sensible aux rayons solaires; ils brunissent et brûlent les pétales. Bonne variété à forcer.

A very vigorous shrub with strong canes armed with strong prickles that are very hooked and an olive-brown color; the foliage is a blackish green on top and a much lighter green beneath; the flower is very lovely, well-formed, shaped like a chalice, full, very compact; the bud is very fine, nearly balck on the outside; the color of a velvety purple-pink with brown highlights. Very sensitive to sun exposure which causes the petals to brown and burn. A good variety for forcing.
