Origin:

Bred by David L. Armstrong (United States, before 1963). Bred by Herbert C. Swim (United States, before 1963).
Introduced by Unknown (Australia) in 1965 as 'Joseph's Coat'.

Class:

Climber, Floribunda, Cl., Large-Flowered Climber.

Bloom:

Red blend. Moderate, fruity fragrance. 23 to 28 petals. Average diameter 4". Large, full (26-40 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Tall, armed with thorns / prickles, climbing. Glossy, dark green foliage.

Height: 8' to 12' (245 to 365cm). Width: 4' (120cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 4b through 10b. Can be used for cut flower, garden or pillar. Vigorous. a good subject for pegging. Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot , susceptible to Mildew, susceptible to rust . Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Prune lightly until this rose gets established (about two years), then prune it back by about a third.. Remove unproductive wood every third year or so.
