I had Jocelyn for a couple of years in zone 5/6. It didn't seem to mind winter, though I did completely cover it with straw. I don't know if it was just my plant or having to deal with Winter, but mine never really took off. The blooms were stunning though. Hope this helps.
My plants are mostly in pots, but some are in the ground -- but all maintained by me. Some of them, however, are located at my Mom's house in San Diego.
I have the same disease but not such a severe case. I had 400+ at one time and killed or tortured about as many thru the years. I am always reducing and giving them away and then.... ordering more. Unfortunately I enjoy reading about and buying them more than takin care of them. I use no fungus or bug stuff so that helps.
