p65. 'August Noack'. (HT) (Kordes, 1928). F3. In every respect a real unaltered Columbia, except colour, which is cerise. It is considered to be the best of three red sports of this variety, thus superseding Europa and 'F. Louise Lindecke'.

p54. ….As in 'Mme. Butterfly' there are many sports of 'Columbia' of somewhat similar appearance. 'August Noack', Europa, and 'Frau Luise Lindecke' are sometimes quite dark, almost a light red, 'Lucinda', 'Columbia Supreme', 'New Columbia', 'Scott’s Columbia', 'Rose Hil'l, 'Silver Columbia' and 'J. K. B. Roos' vary slightly from the original, but in our testing, 'Briarcliff' appears to be more free from the crippled flower tendency than the parent.
