Bloom:
Cream - yellow, carmine-pink shading, carmine-pink edges. Mild to strong fragrance. 41 to 58 petals. Average diameter 5.25". Very large, very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Rounded buds.
Habit:
Bushy, upright. Medium, semi-glossy, medium green foliage. 3 to 7 leaflets.
Height: 28" to 43" (70 to 110cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer. Blooms tend to ball in wet weather. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .

Writer Honore de Balzac was born 16 May 1799 in Tours, France. He died 18 August 1850 of caffeine poisoning --- he is said to have written about one hundred books during the hours of midnight and six in the morning during which he also consumed mass quantities of Turkish coffee.
