Crimson Diamond was produced by Lammerts from a cross of Crimson Glory x Charlotte Armstrong.  It has a somewhat better formed and longer bud than Grimson Glory but the colour is not always as pleasing. It is fully as fragrant as that variety and somewhat more mildew resistant. If it were more vigorous and upright in habit, it would be more satisfactory.
