The lady [Anna Medici Barni] began to invent roses for fun and ended up giving us exceptional examples such as .....Rinascimento, and many others.
Article (magazine)  (May 2005)

Translation:
Anna Medici, wife of Vittorio Barni ....The greenhouse was a bit ramshackle, but the searches were more targeted and from there comes 'Rinascimento' (1989), a remontant floribunda with beautiful dark strawberry pink streaks on a pinkish white background. Awarded at the Monza International Competition in 1990 as the most beautiful Italian rose, it was born completely unexpectedly. Among a collection of miniatures is 'Stars 'n' Stripes' (1975) a Lilliputian by Ralph Moore that made history for its perfectly striped tiny corollas. The pollen of this variety is donated to a hybrid of white tea, not on the market. The first results began to be seen from the seeds, but the colors were not distinguishable well, the drawing could be guessed, but the color was not uniform. The second generation is then crossed with a red miniature which definitely gives a real variegate, so much so that many were led to think that the 'Variegata di Bologna' was used as a parent.
