It seems quite odd in my opinion that a hybrid perpetual (Dupuy Jamain) and a bourbon (Mme de Sévigné) would breed such a centifolia/damasky rose. I have the feeling either the parentage is wrong (do we know anything about this rose: Regierungsrath Stockert, which is supposed to be from the same cross?), or the rose we grow today as Prince Charles d'Arenberg is mislabelled. Since the (rather brief) descriptions in the references do match the rose we have today, i would like to check first the parentage before assuming it's mislabelled. For that matter, if anyone has information about it, it would be much appreciated!
