Bred by Unknown (circa 1768).
Introduced in Australia by Evandale Nursery in circa 1860 as 'Ayrshire'.
Class:
Miscellaneous OGR, Species / Wild.  
Bloom:
White, pink undertones.  Blush.  Mild fragrance.  Semi-double (9-16 petals), in small clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, climbing.  

Height: 9'10" to 14¾' (300 to 450cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
According to Modern Roses 10, Ayrshire is a parent of 'Ayrshire Queen', which see. Ayrshire Rose represents a group composed of hybrids of R. arvensis, possibly with R. setigera or R. sempervirens. The original rose was grown from North American seeds around 1769.
