Origin:
Bred by Eugène Verdier fils aîne (France, 1865).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1873 as 'Fisher Holmes'.

Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson - scarlet, dark red shading.  Moderate fragrance.  30 petals.  Average diameter 3.5".  Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped, high-centered, open, scalloped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Arching, bushy.  

Height: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm).  Width: up to 3' (up to 90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b and warmer.  Hardy.  vigorous.  a good subject for pegging.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.
