It is important that comments relating to a rose are recorded. They reinforce the references which also point out the differences in height. Consequently I have copied your comments from the Website Errors and Problems section and am pasting them in the 'Baxter Beauty' file where we will be able to find them. Patricia
From Cradoc, October 22, 2008. Neither Squatter's Dream nor Baxter Beauty are sold in Aus as climbers and neither of mine have shown the slightest inclination to climb. Are you sure this listing is correct?
From Rosarosam, October 22, 2008. For 'Baxter Beauty' I have corrected the listing based upon the references and my personal experience with this rose. Thank you for your comments.
From Margaret Furness. October 22, 2008. Baxter Beauty is listed as a climber by one of the nurseries selling it in Australia. In my garden (zone 9b) it doesn't climb.
From Rosarosam, October 22, 2008. I never saw it climbing, and never, until now, saw it sold as a climber.
From Margaret Furness. October 22, 2008. Mxxxxdowns (where mine came from) says it will reach 4.5m. Perhaps they feed it growth hormone?

Ours is not a climber. We live in Queensland and if it is going to climb it will up here.

The 'Baxter Beauty' in our garden is a shrub and hasn't shown any climbing tendencies.

It is not clear from the references whether 'Baxter Beauty' 1938 was a sport of 'Lorraine Lee' 1924 or 'Lorraine Lee Climbing' 1932. The height seems to vary from reference to reference as well.
'Yellow Baxter Beauty' is mentioned in a 2003 reference but that rose may be a mis-reading of the 1990 'Man of Roses' book.
