A Trial of New Roses
British Introductions of 1920.
Archie Gray (Hybrid Tea, Hugh Dickson).—Unfortunately the plant sent us was a poor one and the growth was weak, but it was shewn well at some of the exhibitions, A large, deep crimson bloom, of good shape, and large enough for an exhibition box. Hardly a free bloomer, and the foliage inclined to mildew a little.

Certificate of Merit to Archie Gray  (H.T., Hugh Dickson). A  Rose of vigorous growth,  with fine dark green foliage. The  blooms are a very fine pointed form;  and freely   produced  on  strong  upright stems, and very sweetly  scented.   The colour is a  dark claret. This is a  fine all-round Rose, and   will  prove equally good for both exhibition and garden purposes.  It is perhaps best described as a very much darker Mrs. A. E.  Coxhead. It will be placed in  commerce in June, 1918.
