Origin:

Bred by Andries Verschuren (1891-1981) (Netherlands, 1963).

Class:

Hybrid Tea.

Bloom:

Red, darker edges, yellow reverse. 5 to 55 petals. Very full (41+ petals) bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Bushy, upright. Glossy, dark green foliage.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for beds and borders, cut flower or garden.

Patents:

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:

Widely regarded as the world's first modern novel, Miguel Cervantes' Don Quixote de la Mancha chronicles the famous picaresque adventures of the noble knight-errant Don Quixote de La Mancha and his faithful squire, Sancho Panza, as they travel through sixteenth-century Spain. Don Quixote thinks a kitchen wench named Aldonza is actually Dulcinea, the lady he serves and adores but has never met.
