'Pink Pearl' rose Reviews & Comments

I find the following in the HMF ezine for March 2000:
"To try to solve this mystery, I've done some research. Hobbies' 'Pink Pearl' is described as pink shaded salmon AND, perhaps more importantly, it is single -- which means it has only 5 or maybe a few more petals. If your 'Pink Pearl' had more petals than that then we can rule out Hobbies' rose.
There's another rose listed in the database that you should take a look at and that is 'Pink Pearl' (Wichuraiana, Horvath). Under References for this rose, you'll find it was mentioned by William Paul in The Rose Garden of 1910 and it's probably the same rose attributed to Michael Horvath by Brent C. Dickerson in The Old Rose Adventurer in which it's described as an "Old-fashioned Wichuraiana [which would look like a Rambler], with clusters of crimson buds and pale pink, double, fragrant flowers..." by Alex Sutton
Possibly the photo which accompanies the Hobbies rose needs to be reassigned?

The rose by Horvath was listed in Gravereaux' catalogue of 1902. The current attribution to Hobbies at L'Haÿ is incorrect. Photo reassigned.
