I (7,1) Large bright blooms, good substance on upright, vigorous plant with large foliage. Some high-centered exhibition quality fragrant blooms. Opens too fast, too loose garden type. Repeats fast, fades fast in sun, too large a bloom for the stem. Most blooms have bad centers. II (6,7) Plant lacks vigor and is very susceptible to mildew. Needs cover. Abundant, medium green foliage. Exhibition type blooms have good color and substance. Best blooms are in cool weather. Intermittent bloom. Nearly all reports mention poor performance. III (6,7) A fabulous true orange with exquisite buds on a plant that won’t grow in most areas. Mildews. Open fast.
Book (1969) p28. Roy and Heather Rumsey, NSW. New Roses. VaIencia HT. (Kordes) This is a deep colour of burnished apricot orange. Again there are not too many roses in this colour, and most have some weakness. This cultivar grows well for us, and we consider it well worthy of a trial just for the lovely colour. ('Goldene Sonne' x 'Chantre').
p164. Mr. W. G. Treloar of Portland, Victoria. The New Ones. Valencia produces large blooms up to six inches across in an unusual apricot-fawn colouring. The plants are strong growing and completely disease resistant. Should make an excellent garden display.

I fiori sono grandi e ben formati, splendenti. Il bocciolo lungo, elegante, si apre su steli vigorosi. A fioritura avanzata il colore bronzo diventa amaranto. Una delle caratteristiche essenziali di questo fiore è il suo forte e gradevole profumo. La pianta ha una vegetazione molto forte, ben ramificata ed ha grandi foglie di un verde chiaro e brillante.
