Dr. Dennison Morey, of Livermore, has introduced a series of roses from 'Tom Thumb' and a sport of 'Dick Koster.' These are all in shades of rose with the delightful names of 'Blushing Jewel,' 'Diamond Jewel,' 'Gay Jewel,' and 'Ruby Jewel.

Nearly all of the modern Miniatures are hardy outdoors. ‘Perla de Alcanada’, a strong thorny crimson, will survive a temperature of 20 degrees below zero, but ‘Diamond Jewel’, a dainty small white, needs protection at zero.
