Bred by Francis Meilland (1912-1958) (France, 1947).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Wheatcroft Brothers Ltd. in 1948 as 'Marcelle Gret'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1951 as 'Marcel Gret'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Yellow.  Moderate fragrance.  30 petals.  Average diameter 6".  Very large, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Glossy, dark green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Probably referred to as 'Ocre Meilland' before commercialization - see 1946 reference.
