Bloom:
Yellow, ages to light yellow . Strong, old rose fragrance. 60 to 75 petals. Average diameter 3". Medium, very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped, globular, old-fashioned bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Rounded buds.
Habit:
Bushy. Semi-glossy, medium green foliage. 6 leaflets.
Height: 39" to 47" (100 to 120cm). Width: up to 35" (up to 90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) . Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).

The present invention constitutes a new and distinct variety of garden rose plant which originated from a controlled crossing during the summer of 1988 between an unnamed seedling (non-patented) and an unnamed seedling (non-patented).
Notes:
Cants of Colchester say that the new name of 'Summer Gold', this rose was previously known as 'Eurostar', better reflects the beauty of the rose itself.
