Bred by Alain Meilland (1940-....) (France, before 1996).
Introduced in France by Meilland et Cie in 1996 as 'Bolchoï'.
Introduced in Australia by Corporate Roses Pty. Ltd. in 2001 as 'Fiona’s Wish'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Cherry-red, yellow reverse, ages to carmine-pink .  Strong, fruity, lemon, rose, wild rose fragrance.  45 petals.  Average diameter 4.75".  Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, reflexed bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Tall, bushy.  Matte, dark green, dense foliage.  

Height: 28" to 39" (70 to 100cm).  Width: up to 30" (up to 75cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Can be used for cut flower or garden.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .

'Fiona's Wish' has won a number of awards: a Gold Medal (1996) in Rome, Italy' Le Roeulx Gold Medal (1996) Belgium; an award for Fragrance (1996) Belgium, as well as an award for Fragrance (2000) Adelaide. Royalties from the sale of this rose will be donated to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.
