'Amanda ®' rose Reviews & Comments

Rise n Shine came out in 1977, in USA. This version of Amanda came out in 1979, in Europe. I think the Rise n Shine lineage is for the USA version from Saville, who typically used both Rise n Shine and Sheri Anne.

Yep. I think we're straight now. Red Ace (miniature, De Ruiter, 1979) Parentage: Scarletta × Seedling Red Ace (miniature, Saville, 1980) parentage: Rise n Shine x Sheri Anne

The lineage given is for the Saville miniature and not for the European invention.
This whole 'Amanda' name business should be cleared up with some contact to various breeders. I think the same, too, for 'Belinda' in more modern hybrids.
But, effort.... lol.

Botanica's Roses (book) says Scarletta x seedling as well as Eyewitness Garden Handbooks: Roses saying the same thing.
The European 'Red Ace' and the American 'Red Ace' are clearly two different, yet similar roses with different backgrounds.
