Established 1890 by Walter Hauenstein (1870-1934).
In 1927, sons Walter, Emil, Robert, Fritz and Carl Hauenstein became partners in the family business and took over 1934 after the death of Walter Hauenstein.
Kurt Hauenstein-Wäckerlin (b. 1926), joined 1956 and was managing director 1960-1986.
Beat and Fritz Hauenstein joined 1983. Fritz Hauenstein is managing director since 1986.
