There seems a difference on bloom size. Here is is listed as 2 inch. High Country Roses has 1 inch. I just saw it exhibited at a fair at 1 inch as well. A big box store near me has about 40 of these with 2" flowers, no water and harsh treatment with trash and torture and neglect, they bloom spring thru fall. Any thoughts on how there seem to be two kinds?

Mine are right at 1”, but that is for 6a, own root, in about 2/3rds shade. I wouldn’t be shocked if more favorable sun, root graft, or a different zone would yield larger flowers. But 100% larger? I dunno.

High Country is own root with 1", another grower has 2" and does own root too.

….in England these days, at least where I am, gets totally covered in black spot from midsummer.. no spray garden... it doesn't affect the blooming and still manages to look wonderful... except close up...

Funny, we have such a similar climate, except for the dry summer and the acidic soil. I wonder if you added soil acidifier or better drainage, if it would make a difference in the black spot?
