Origin:
Bred by Marie-Louise (Louisette) Meilland (Paolino) (1920-1987) (France, before 1951).
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1952 as 'Moulin Rouge'.
Introduced in France by URS (Universal Rose Selection)-Meilland in 1953 as 'Moulin Rouge'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1955 as 'Moulin Rouge'.
Class:
Floribunda, Hybrid Polyantha.  
Bloom:
Vermilion to scarlet, geranium-red shading.  Mild fragrance.  20 to 25 petals.  Average diameter 2".  Medium, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, bushy, upright.  Glossy foliage.  

Height: 2' to 32" (60 to 80cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for beds and borders, container rose or garden.
