Mid April 2025 from my inland Bay Area yard. Plant is on its own roots, planted about 1.5 years ago. One of the best smelling and most strongly scented roses I grow.

Photo of new spring growth mid April 2025. Very vigorous own root plant. Tall with a very bushy habit. This plant is only about 3 years old. I find it slow to repeat but has MANY blooms when it does have a flush. Has a deep pink color and wonderful old rose scent. Does make a good cut flower but the nodding stems are a little odd to arrange for me—I think looks better mixed with non roses. The flowers are beautiful and with such easy care, it’s hard to beat!

Late March 2025 from my inland Bay Area garden. Plant is 2-3 years old grafted on dr. Huey. Has not had a noticeable fragrance before but now has a mild to moderate one.

Photo from very young plant in May 2023. I have two own-root sparkle & shine roses. They are vigorous growers with many floribunda blooms to a stem. I enjoy their sunny color, generous blooms, and easy care. Mine both live in part shade/filtered sun locations and receive little water.

5th year growing. Put on a trellis last year. Some main canes trimmed used laterals as main canes per watching Paul Zimmerman youtube videos. Early spring I cut all laterals to 2inches and now its spring performance. Nice flexible canes. Zone 8b
