In our garden Cévennes, France, Zone 8-8a 600m altitude. Planted November 2022 as a bare-root grafted onto Laxa ex. Loubert. Last year I don’t recall it flowering and now, today, into it’s second season, we have the first fully developed flower. Among all our rose plants, this variety seems odd, in that the bud doesn’t open normally producing a fully petaled rose, but rather a large flat part-developed disc with a central stamen encircled by as yet to develop green petals. Over a period of about 5/6 days the ‘green petals then form their final colour. Does anyone know what the horticultural term is, and can anyone else who grows this variety confirm? Thank you.
