My PP is in a lot of shade and so after 2 years it hasn't bloomed all that much and just made a couple of hips. But, the hips did ripen up well and tasted good even though they had been frozen. So hip quality is good. I will get a big tree trimmed and report back next year on quantity. This has been a very healthy plant - especially considering circumstances (shade, extreme heat in summer, not so great soil.) All the rugosas are fairly deer resistant as advertised. I put out chopped garlic but after a heavy rain the deer still ate a lot of the leaves on the non-rugosa's and left the rugosas alone. Bella Vista Arkansas USA Oct 2022.
