Oakland, CA July 17, 2009 Inspired by the old standards in the Oakland Rose Garden, I trained Phyllis Bide over a steel umbrella stand. Here is how it looked this spring. Sadly, we have sold this house and the rose was too happy to move, so this picture is a fond farewell.
