"The Cromwell Rose" is part of a collection of heritage roses salvaged during the construction of the Clyde Dam in Central Otago, New Zealand. The Clyde Dam near Cromwell in Central Otago, New Zealand, was constructed between 1982 and 1993. The dam's reservoir, Lake Dunstan, was filled in stages starting in April 1992, with completion the following year
These roses were later offered for sale by Trinity Farm in Ōtaki.
